Buffy ❤️’d our review so much, they offered to sponsor this post

If you’ve ever woken up sweaty and tangled in sheets during a summer heatwave, you know that not all bedding is created equal.

Our team at The Get Well is on a mission to find the ultimate cooling sheets for hot sleepers. After weeks of testing and passionate debates, we’ve narrowed the selection down to two: Buffy’s Breeze Sheets and Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheets.

We put them both to the test and compiled our honest thoughts in this deep-dive review. Here’s everything we discovered, and which set came out on top:

The Contenders: Buffy Breeze Sheets vs Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets

Buffy is the brainchild of Leo Wang, who grew up surrounded by fabric (his family spent over 30 years in textiles). Today, Buffy’s mission is simple: make bedding that feels like a dream and treads lightly on the planet. Their Breeze Sheets, made from 100% eucalyptus-based TENCEL™ lyocell, have racked up 49 awards and counting.

Cozy Earth, founded by Tyler Howells, is known for sourcing premium materials and developing relationships with its manufacturers. Their Bamboo Sheet Set gained traction after becoming a repeat guest on Oprah’s Favorite Things list.

So, how do they stack up in real life? Let’s break it down.

unboxing our contestants…

The Real Test: Cooling, Comfort & Sleep Quality

During our side-by-side unboxing, both sheet sets immediately impressed with a lustrous, silk-like sheen. At first touch, Buffy’s Breeze Sheets stood out for their smoother, mnore substantial feel compared to Cozy Earth’s. While the added weight suggested premium quality, it also raised early questions about how well they’d perform in terms of breathability and temperature regulation.

As it turns out, those concerns were short lived. Lyocell fibers, Buffy’s core material, are incredibly smooth even at the microscopic level, leaving no tiny crevices for dust, allergens, or bacteria to linger (unlike traditional cotton). Add to that Buffy’s proprietary SilkShape™ fabric, engineered to mimic the softness of silk, and you get a textile that feels not only luxurious but also exceptionally clean and gentle on the skin.

Research published by the Journal of bioresources and bioproducts compares (from left to right) the texture of viscose, lyocell, and cotton fibers.

The most frequent comment about the Breeze Sheets was incredulity that they never felt damp. Beyond lyocell’s naturally moisture-wicking qualities, Buffy’s sheets also proved to be highly breathable—a huge advantage for cooling bedding, particularly in the summertime. Viscose’s breathability didn’t seem to be quite as strong as that of lyocell (more on this shortly).

In fact, Buffy’s Breeze Sheets are engineered to facilitate a 1.9℉ reduction in body temperature, which must’ve played a role in our team’s high satisfaction rate for Breeze Sheets. The Sleep Foundation reports that the human body temperature naturally dips as one sleeps, so a cooler room (and bedding) naturally leads to faster and deeper sleep.

Our team’s feedback:

  • “Thanks to these sheets, my boyfriend (who runs extremely hot) slept through the night for the first time all summer.”
  • “Iroically, my AC was broken when my Buffy order arrived. I didn’t even miss it after just one night with the Breeze Sheets.”
  • “They feel cool, but not uncomfortably cold… they’re just right. I sound like Goldilocks, don’t I?”

Team members who tried Cozy Earth post-Buffy said they noticed a slight cooling effect, but (a) it wasn’t as strong and (b) several people still woke up with night sweats. Generally, the Bamboo Sheets were received as warmer than the Breeze Sheets (the opposite of our initial prediction). We had much to think about…

Materials & Sustainability: Certifications Matter

Buffy’s Breeze Sheets are made from 100% TENCEL™ lyocell, which consists of eucalyptus sustainably farmed in Austria. Not only is TENCEL™ renowned for its cooling properties, it’s produced using a closed-loop system that recycles water and reduces carbon emissions by 50% compared to generic lyocell. Buffy backs up their eco-claims with an OEKO-TEX® certification, proving their sheets are free from harmful chemicals.

close-ups on either sheet set highlight their silky quality.

Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheets are crafted from 100% viscose from bamboo, also in a closed-loop process that recycles water and recaptures chemicals used to process the bamboo. (Exact percentages of the resources saved were unclear).

While Cozy Earth is vocal about their hands-on relationships with manufacturers and routine quality checks, they don’t provide independent certifications like OEKO-TEX®.

Bottom line: Both brands talk a great sustainability game, but only Buffy offers third-party proof.

Price: Affordable Luxury vs Sticker Shock

Let’s be honest: price matters.

Buffy Breeze Sheets start at:

  • Start at $150 for a Twin and
  • Top out at $225 for a California King.

Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheets:

  • Start at $258
  • Go up to a jaw-dropping $348.

That’s a 2-3x markup for Cozy Earth. Nobody should have to shell out half a grand for a cool night’s sleep. For most people, that’s not a small difference… it’s a dealbreaker.

two different sheet sets, two very different prices.

Durability & Care: Everyday Easy

Life’s too short for high-maintenance bedding. Both sets can be tossed in the washer (cold, gentle cycle) and dried on low. But in our testing, one Cozy Earth pillowcase ripped while being fitted over a pillow—a minor heartbreak, especially at that price. Buffy’s sheets, by contrast, felt sturdy and held up flawlessly.

Unexpected bonus: Buffy’s fitted sheets are extra deep, making them a dream for anyone with a mattress topper or plus-size pillows.

Colors, Customer Experience & Returns

Buffy offers a true rainbow of options: 42 colors and patterns, from muted to bold, stripes and solids… even a few florals. Cozy Earth, on the other hand, keeps things neutral with 12 soft shades and 7 subtle designs. We appreciated the extensive opportunities to customize aesthetics with Buffy. Bedding is very personal, after all!

Cozy Earth offers a 10-year warranty; Buffy’s is 3 years. Both have “try it at home” policies—Buffy for 7 nights, Cozy Earth for 100—but we found that a week was plenty of time to decide.

Shipping is fast and free for both brands.

and the (cooling bedding) oscar goes to…

Our Verdict: Why We Chose Buffy Breeze Sheets

The winner? Buffy Breeze Sheets. Not just for the price (though that’s a huge plus). Buffy nails the trifecta of true cooling power, eco-friendly materials you can trust, and easy, reliable care. Our team of hot sleepers, picky shoppers, and design enthusiasts all agreed: Buffy’s Breeze Sheets simply delivered the coolest, most comfortable sleep.

Buffy’s award-winning Breeze Sheets are the best place to start if you’re ready to beat the summer heat and invest in better sleep. Cool as a cucumber, easy on the planet, and kind to your wallet. Sweet dreams, guaranteed.

During the Black Friday Sale, save 25% (or more) on a Buffy Breeze Sheet Set and enjoy cooler, comfier nights all season long.
