I Didn’t Think I’d Be Able to Have My Favorite Fall Treats Again…
Last June, my boyfriend and I moved from New York City to Denver. I love it here, but as fall came rolling in, I started to feel homesick. Then one day last week, my coworker brought in a pumpkin-spice candle, and it hit me: I NEEDED Milk Bar.
Around this time every year, Milk Bar releases limited edition, devastatingly delicious fall treats. I’m not usually a “pumpkin spice” gal, but Milk Bar just does fall right. There are Milk Bar bakeries all over New York so I just assumed that they were in every major city…
But boy, was I wrong — there’s not a single location in Denver. I seriously contemplated hopping in my car and driving 15 hours and 16 minutes to the store in LA, but as luck would have it, Milk Bar is now offering nationwide, next-day delivery. That means I can get my favorite treats delivered to my front door faster than a round-trip to an actual store.
In case you’ve been living a sugar-free life (I’m so sorry), let me fill ya in on Milk Bar!
What’s the Deal With Milk Bar?

It all started in 2008, when head chef and dessert mastermind Christina Tosi opened the first Milk Bar location in New York’s East Village. Since then, it’s expanded to over a dozen locations across the US and even Toronto, amassing a cult following that includes celebrities like tv personality Chrissy Tiegen and supermodel Karlie Kloss.
Milk Bar is basically a place where you can be a kid again and enjoy the butter-filled, sugar-packed, no-holds-barred desserts your mom used to make (just made by an award-winning pastry chef). Think cookies stuffed with potato chips and pretzels, funfetti cake, and pies made mostly of butter. Milk Bar is committed to making dessert more fun than fancy — the way dessert is supposed to be.
Let’s Get Into the Sweet Stuff…

I used to make one or two trips a week during the fall months in New York, so when it came time to place my order I may have gone a little overboard. But hey, Milk Bar’s fall specials are only available for a short period of time.
Luckily you can schedule the delivery for any date you want up to 30 days out, so I ordered a bunch of treats that I can eat asap, but also scheduled a delivery too! Apparently most of the fall treats are already almost sold out, so I’d suggest pre-ordering for your holiday spread now.
Here’s what I ordered…
Apple Cider Doughnut Cake

I thought that last year’s seasonal pumpkin-flavored cake was good… but I was not prepared for the insanity that is the Apple Cider Doughnut Cake. This baby has a crown of apple cider doughnut truffles on top and caramelized doughnut crumbles in between every cake layer, which gives it that “fried” taste. It’s also full of sweet apple flavor, thanks to the mulled apple cider jam layered on top of those thick, creamy “doughnut sugar” frosting layers. I mean, I can hardly keep typing…
Pumpkin Milk Bar Pie

My boyfriend Jonah is obsessed with pumpkin desserts, so the Pumpkin Milk Bar Pie was more for him than for me. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t quick enough to snag more than a few slices before I. Devoured. The. Entire. Thing. It has that quintessential pumpkin flavor that we all know and love, but the texture of their classic gooey, buttery Milk Bar Pie. Swoon. One bite in, I immediately ordered two more for the holidays (and yes, I will be claiming I made them).
Apple Cider Truffles

I’m a fiend for apple cider, so when I saw these limited edition Apple Cider Doughnut Truffles, I couldn’t add them to my cart fast enough. I think they were the biggest hit among my Milk Bar-newbie friends in Denver. These glorious little truffles are like doughnut holes, but not sad and dry, and each ball is coated in a barely-there layer of white-chocolate and dusted with spiced sugar. Pro tip: these are somehow even more delicious warmed up.
Milk Bar Lets You Have Your Cake and Eat It Too

I’ve always been confused by the saying, “have your cake and eat it too.” What else would a person do with their cake? After I finished all of my treats though, the phrase clicked for me. Once I ate it all, I didn’t have it anymore… Luckily, I can have another Apple Cider Doughnut Cake at my door tomorrow if I want (and I do)!
I miss the euphoric feeling of walking into a Milk Bar store IRL. But having my treats next-day delivered to my house is so much easier, and the cute pink and white box makes it feel like it’s my birthday! The only issue is, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stop ordering. Sorry, bank account.
