Somehow I Went From Morning Cup of Joe to Full on Java Junkie
Once my afternoon cup became two more afternoon cups, I knew I had to find a way to kick my coffee habit. So about a month ago, I decided it was finally time for me to detox and really dial it back. Pedro Pascal’s 6-shot espresso order was child’s play to me at that point.
I told my sister, and she really wanted me to try these new vegan gummy supplements she’s been hyped up on from TikTok. They’re called Lemme Matcha: B12 energy gummies that are supposed to boost your “energy metabolism,” (whatever that is). I was immediately skeptical—they hardly even have any caffeine, which sounded like a placebo situation to me.
On top of that, when I learned that Lemme is Kourtney Kardashian’s brand, I was conflicted. She is the health-conscious one in the family, so if anyone is going to make obsessively good wellness products, it’s her. But, we’re talking gummy vitamins here…
I figured it couldn’t hurt to try ’em, so I let my sister convince me to order a bottle. I subscribed to get 10% off, and committed to a test run for the month. No results, and I’d just cancel it.
Lemme: the “Candy That’s Good For You”
Lemme’s website claims the gummies are “scientifically formulated with ingredients to promote sustained energy, cellular energy, energy metabolism, and antioxidant support.” But that was too science-y for me, so I took to the reviews for the real tea.
And boy, were they glowing:
A common thread in the reviews was that people love the jitter-free aspect of the energy they felt—the kind that doesn’t need 300mg+ of caffeine a day to work. (I guess that’s what Lemme meant by cellular energy.) And I could definitely get down with the idea of sustained, no-crash-later energy.
I started to notice Lemme’s name everywhere after I made the purchase, too, from TikTok and IG to People Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and Women’s Health. I needed more than great press to kick my coffee addiction, but I was definitely starting to feel more optimistic about it.
Lemme Matcha’s “Secret Formula”
I liked the fact that all of Lemme’s products are made with high quality ingredients and clinically-studied doses of them. The website quickly reassured me there was no junk involved—everything is vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free, and free from artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, sugar alcohols, and high-fructose corn syrup.
As for the star ingredients in Lemme Matcha, there are 3 main active components:
- Organic Matcha: It’s not just trendy. Packed with antioxidants, this detoxifying and alkalizing green tea is an age-old go-to for full body benefits and energy. Lemme uses the highest-quality, organic Japanese matcha in their gummies to get the most benefits out of it.
- B-12: My sister takes this stuff in a dropper bottle, but I never really understood what it was until now. Apparently B-12 gives your body the tools it needs to turn food into energy. It supports a healthy nervous system and it’s essential for whole body wellness.
- COQ10: I know it sounds like what Elon Musk and Grimes named their baby, but COQ10 is actually a naturally-occurring antioxidant that exists in almost every cell in the body. Apparently it plays a vital role in energy production too.
Basically, instead of hammering you with caffeine that’ll make you anxious and then make you crash, Lemme Matcha supplies your body with the essential compounds it needs to make its own energy more efficiently.
My Experience Taking These Gummies
I’d seen reviews from people saying these taste like a matcha latte, but I didn’t believe it until I tried them. They’re almost…creamy, with a balanced, sweet matcha flavor. Definitely a nice little treat to start my day with.
Now, I’m not gonna lie, that first week sans-coffee was not cute. But my body started to slowly re-balance itself over the course of the month, and as I got used to the lack of coffee, my energy balanced out too.
The bottle says you can take two gummies up to 3x daily, so I started popping a few in the afternoon too because I could notice a little energy boost after taking them, despite the lack of caffeine. Call it the placebo effect, but all I know is that I wasn’t lustily eyeing my coworkers’ 2 PM lattes.
I even started to sleep better—which, admittedly, I didn’t realize was something I needed to fix. Better sleep led to more well-rested mornings, so I actually felt more productive during the day than before. Turns out, you don’t need one hour manic bursts of toe-tapping, coffee-fueled productivity sprints when you can be calm and focused all day.
After a month of Lemme Matcha, will I be completely cutting out coffee? Probably not. But these gummies definitely helped me have a way better relationship with it. After the 30-day detox, I’m starting to slowly incorporate a cup here and there. It’s wild how you can actually enjoy coffee when you drink it because you want it, not because you need it.
I Was Skeptical at First, But Now It’s Not Just My Words I’m Eating…
Because Lemme Matcha gummies are as delicious as they are game-changing. Gotta give my sister her flowers, she was spot on about this one. I’m definitely keeping the subscription.
It’s a fun little ritual, but it’s more than that, too. Stabilizing my energy levels overall has helped me in so many different ways. I feel less anxious, more in tune with my body, more capable of taking on the day, and I’m not spending $50+ a week on coffee runs. Who knew such a little gummy could have such a huge impact?
After my month of Lemme, I’ve had my eye on some of their other products, too. There’s Lemme Sleep, Lemme Chill, Lemme Debloat… I’m kinda like “lemme do it all!” after seeing how well the Matcha gummies worked for me. And with the discount on a Build Your Own Bundle, I just might.
But seriously, if you’re struggling with a caffeine dependence, or just looking to feel more balanced and energized, Lemme Matcha is 10/10 would recommend. Thank me later!
