The other day I was on Instagram and saw Chrissy Teigen post about this new safety kit she got. Then Kim Kardashian, Kourtney K., and Kris Jenner all posted about it too. If that wasn’t enough, it was on Cupcakes and Cashmere, so you know I had to get it.
So, Who is JUDY?
When I think of “Judy,” my first thought is that aunt that always makes sure that you’re fed, happy, in a relationship, have all your belongings, prints a MapQuest for you even when you have Google Maps on your phone, and so on. Sounds about right to me!
In this case, JUDY is that aunt, but here she is making sure you are prepared for what you can’t predict — earthquakes, fires, floods, terrorism, and so on. There are many things we don’t think of, but that’s okay, that’s Judy’s job now.
Until I got my guide texted to me after buying, I didn’t realize how unprepared I was for a pandemic in San Francisco. Then, when I went to check the emergency kit I had before JUDY, all I found were band-aids and some expired Advil; clearly I wasn’t prepared.
JUDY Arrives

Opening JUDY
When you open JUDY, the unboxing is unreal. Their catchphrase is, “Ready. Set. Judy.” Inside the box is are six beautiful orange colored JUDY prepared with modules for you — warmth, food, tools, safety, water, and first aid. Let me dive into each one.
Warmth
No lie, the warmth module put my bed comforter to shame. Rescue blankets, instant hand warmers, waterproof matches (JUDY lives in the year 3000), and candles for light. All things which were not in my previous kits, nor my thoughts.
Food
This one is fun. JUDY comes with protein/food bars to maintain your nutrition intake for when a disaster occurs, but also has some room for you to store snacks of your choice. I put some trail mix in, some dried fruit, and some peanut butter. Michelin Star emergency kit — I think YES!
Tools
This part was very impressive — I got extra AAA batteries, an LED flashlight, a multi-purpose tool (pliers, knife, etc.), duct tape, a disposable phone charger, and a radio/flashlight combo. This is my command central when things go wrong — bring it on.
Safety
Next to the Tools module, this was just as impressive. I got dust masks (never thought of this), ponchos (just, wow!), proper gloves (to move debris), glow sticks, and 2 emergency whistles. Least to say, I am covered here thanks to JUDY.
Water
This was pretty eye-opening. I had never thought about an emergency water supply, and with this, I got 16 water pouches, each with a 5-year shelf-life.
First Aid
This was normal for the most part (band-aids, tape, and so on), but also had some surprises. I got a biohazard bag, a quick-dry towel, pocket tissues, sanitizer gel, and wipes. JUDY really went above and beyond and thought through more than just wounds, but also disease, and especially now with viruses.
Overall
In one word? WOW. So many things I never really thought about came in my JUDY.
