2022 has been off to an interesting start…to say the least. I wanted to kick off the new year with some resolutions I could ACTUALLY stick to, to keep the craziness at bay while keeping my sanity in control.
Sure, I thought about the whole “gym every day, no alcohol, go vegan, say no to plans I don’t like” thing, but I figured that wasn’t going to last very long. Instead of quitting cold turkey (sorry, I can’t say no to a good happy hour deal) I decided I would start by cutting back on my drinking. I wanted to keep it pretty clean throughout the week, and let myself enjoy on weekends without going overboard (and paying for it the next morning).
Personally, a vodka soda or a tequila soda just does not cut it. Where’s the flavor?? It tastes like a watered-down drink that you’re forcing yourself to get through cause you paid $20 for it and can’t let any go to waste. We’ve all been there, right?
I love my wine, but lately it’s just not worth the headaches that it gives me the next day. Plus, it’s loaded with sugar and junk that I probably don’t need to be putting in my body so regularly.
I definitely wasn’t going to whip out a white claw at a dinner party, so that left me with zero options for a cocktail. I wanted something that tasted good, was made with clean ingredients, and was low-ABV so I could enjoy a few during the evening without the hangover the next day.
It seriously felt like there was nothing out there that met my standards, until I discovered Haus. Haus is an alcohol brand from California that specializes in all-natural aperitifs, which are super flavorful but lower in alcohol content than other liquors. What quickly drew me to Haus is how they are modernizing this aperitif culture, which is really popular in Europe. There is less of an emphasis on drinking to get drunk, and more of a focus on enjoying the people who you’re with, with a high-quality cocktail in hand.
That’s when I knew the aperitif live was for me – I wanted to enjoy what I was drinking, but I didn’t want to fall back into those same habits of chugging my drink just cause everyone else was. I wanted to enjoy the moments more, and my delicious cocktail was an added bonus.
I ordered their new Spritz Kit, cause I’m a sucker for a spritz cocktail and figured it would be a perfect way to try some of their signature flavors. After a speedy delivery, my Haus kit came and let me tell you, I felt like I was getting a birthday gift. Not only was I so excited to try it already, but the box was so beautiful and it felt like an experience from the start.
The Spritz Kit came with 4 200ml bottles of Haus, and it included Lemon Lavender, Citrus Flower, Pomegranate Rosemary, and Rose Rosé. I decided to test out one of their classic recipes to kick off my intro to aperitif.
I tested out the “Haus Spritz” which is three ounces of Haus (I used the Lemon Lavender), two ounces of prosecco, a splash of sparkling water and a slice of lemon. An easy cocktail that makes me feel fancy? No brainer. I took a sip and my mind was blown immediately!
From their brand, to their flavors, to the high-quality ingredients, Haus makes you feel so much better about what you’re sipping on, and I don’t just mean the amazing taste. They’ve become the low-ABV answer of my dreams, and I’m feeling #blessed to have found something that I can actually enjoy while sticking to my goals.
Right now, The Get Well is offering their readers 15% off of the Spritz Kit. Whether you’re cutting back on alcohol or not, you have to give Haus a try – I promise you’re going to LOVE it.
